Testimonial: "I just wanted to say thanks for the advice. I think we've finally figured out the problem. I used the ForceOut A-M just like you said and it immediately stopped the musty smell in our basement. The carpet machine definitely did the job. I followed that up with the regular ForceOut and got the smell out from all of the other furniture around the room. I would guess that you saved me about $1,000 if I kept listening to all the experts and started tearing things out. Also you were right on the cold air returns too, they were filled with gunk that smelled. It's like night and day. Thanks for getting rid of that musty smell that made our basement unlivable." Tired of those musty odors that just never seem to disappear?
If you've ever tried to cure a room or basement of its musty smell or tried to treat an area after water-damage and felt helpless when it didn't work - we have the solution...ForceOut® Odor Eliminator. ForceOut is the premier odor elimination product on the market today and we are proud to say that we have helped countless people overcome water-damaged houses, cars, baements and the musty smells associated with this troublesome problem. Unlike other products, ForceOut is not an "air freshener" but an ODOR ELIMINATOR . There's no need to use caustic chemicals that will merely make you have to fumigate your house later. Just spray or wipe down your surfaces with ForceOut and the odor will be gone - immediately, completely and forever. The Musty Smell ProblemAs you've probably found out, musty smells can be very tricky. There are a few issues at hand when you are dealing with odors that emanate in and around your house and each must be addressed to totally remedy the problem. Essentially, you're dealing with a moisture problem and the situation needs a thorough analysis about how to stage an attack. The musty odors that are affecting your air quality might not be relegated to one surface area - the smell has most likely permeated into other soft surfaces around the area so you need to have a plan of action for those as well. These soft surfaces, i.e., upholstery, rugs, curtains, wallpaper, etc., are surfaces that will hold the odors and will affect your results so treatment of these surfaces is imperative if the smell is to be totally eradicated.
Musty Basement Odors Not Associated With Mold And Mildew Hard Surface Treatment: If you are encountering foundation (block) sweating or damp concrete floors, simply spray or mop ForceOut onto the affected areas and the odor will disappear on contact. It's important to note, that in most cases, odor-causing mold & bacteria will not be present on these cold surfaces because they usually aren't condusive to their growth. But since nothing can stop the concrete from sweating, you'll have to continue to treat these surfaces to control the musty odor. Soft Surface Treatment: Make sure to treat all soft surfaces in the general vicinity because they will also be harboring musty smells. Simply spray the soft surfaces with ForceOut and rub in with your fingertips or use a soft brush to make contact with the odor molecules. If the musty smell is deep-set in cushions, you'll have to saturate the padding and thoroughly dry them out before using. Furthermore, after treating these surfaces, it's always a good idea to treat the air in the room by spraying ForceOut overhead to destroy any lingering odors.
Musty Odors Caused by Mold or Bacteria In many cases, the musty smells around your home are caused by mold or mildew that thrive in a moisture-filled environment. In a nutshell, the mold spores have found a great environment to reproduce and flourish. These areas are usually warm and out of sunlight, damp areas, such as carpet, carpet padding, wood, upholstery, etc. If your analysis of the situation determines that you have a mold or mildew problem, ForceOut® A-M Odor Eliminator is the solution. ForceOut A-M was specially engineered to combine the strength and effectiveness of our odor eliminator with a special microbial inhibitor that effectively controls mold spore growth. Best of all, its odorless and environmentally safe just like our original Odor Eliminator. So there's no need to fumigate your home after you have treated the room. Just make contact with the odor source and the musty smell will be gone. Carpeting & Carpet PaddingIf you have a mold and mildew problem in your carpet, upholstery, or padding, add straight ForceOut A-M to a carpet extractor to deep penetrate the infected area. ForceOut A-M must make contact with the odor source to eliminate the odor. Remember to treat the other soft surfaces around the room with the original ForceOut Odor Eliminator to finish the area. Musty Smells Associated with Water-Damaged Cars and Rooms With all of the rain and flooding associated with the recent string of hurricanes that affected the Eastern part of the United States, ForceOut had been a savior to a multitude of families and businesses faced with the daunting task of removing musty odors associated with water-damaged property. In most cases, we recommend ForceOut A-M to anybody faced with damage caused by flooding or excessive water-damaged areas because it will control the mold and mildew growth on any surface. If the mold related moisture areas aren't controlled first - then you will continually be left with a musty smelling environment that will just be harder to eradicate later - it won't matter what product you use. This is also the case with water-damaged or flood cars because they simply won't be able to dry out correctly unless all surfaces are treated. This means that all soft surfaces, i.e., carpet, carpet padding, upholstery, etc., will have to be saturated and penetrated with a carpet extractor to get to the source of the odor. All other surfaces will have to be wiped down and air dried.
