Odor Removal
Car
Odors and Unwanted Smells from dogs, soft drinks, spilled juice
boxes, leftover food, flood cars, mildew odor, gas spills, coffee
spills, milk spills, etc.
The
following procedure illustrates the procedure for "basic"
interior car odor elimination. See why auto dealerships across the
country use ForceOut when they are faced with a challenging car
odor problem.
Always use a soft brush or your fingertips (don't worry it's completely
safe) to brush formula into soft surfaces such as interior carpets
and upholstery. It's always a good idea to remove all items, trash,
etc. and vacuum the interior before treatment.
- Spray the front and back seat foot
areas. Don't forget under the seats.
- Spray throughout vehicle interior
making sure to treat all surfaces.
- For upholstery, spray and brush
ForceOut into the surface. If leather, just spray and wipe.
- Spray rear window deck area and
wipe down.
- Spray
entire trunk area.
The
ventilation system is generally the last step in the treatment of
the vehicle. The ventilation system can be a major cause of car
odor problems.
- Spray the ForceOut formula into
all dash vents.
- Start the vehicle and turn the vehicle
fan on high (not A/C setting).
- Spray the ForceOut formula into
the outside fresh air intake vent (cowl at base of windshield).
- After 1 minute, wipe off any excess
formula from dash vents.
- Air
coming from the dash vents should smell fresh. If odors are still
present, spray more ForceOut into the cowl, wait another minute
and smell the results.
For major car smell problems, turn the system to the A/C maximum
or "re-circulation" setting. Roll up windows, spray
into the vehicle, shut door and let the vehicle run on A/C Max
with the fan set on high for 1-2 minutes
When shampooing the interior of the vehicle to rid the car of
unwanted odors, add 10-12 oz. of ForceOut into the finished soap
and water mixture. Lightly pre-treat area with ForceOut and shampoo
as normal.
Gas
Spills and Gas Odors
Gas
Spills and the associated Gas Odors in your cars carpeting or other
surfaces can be tricky because the gas is an oil and the surface
tension of the gas MUST be broken down to enable ForceOut to penetrate
the odor causing compounds. This can be done by simply adding about
1 teaspoon of dishwashing liquid to every 16 oz. of ForceOut. The
dishwashing detergent will help break down the surface tension and
allow ForceOut to penetrate the gas spill and neutralize the odor.
If
the spill has penetrated deep in the carpet matting or any other
soft surface area (carpeting, upholstery, etc.), it is recommended
that you use a carpet cleaning machine to penetrate the surface.
Just fill the cleaning tank with the above ForceOut detergent mixture.
Remember, ForceOut must make contact with the gas odor to eliminate
the odor.
If
the gas spill was left untreated for a period of time, it's very
possible that the odor has permeated into other hard and soft surfaces.
Because of the compounds present in fuel, this process will not
take long (without ventilation) so always remember to treat the
whole car completely (see above).
